I am married to my wonderful husband Shawn. We have 5 terrific kids and a Boykin Spaniel named Kona. We made the choice to move to Wilmington after a family vacation left us feeling like we were right at home. In my down time, I love sewing, reading and playing with my kiddos. I'm also a dedicated advocate for natural birthing, breastfeeding, vaccine choice and genital integrity.
My passion has always been in serving others. I started off my long career in healthcare as a volunteer at our local hospital during high school. During my undergrad at Michigan State University, I was enrolled in the pre-med program and planned on attending osteopathic school after graduation. While pursuing my degree, I obtained my Nurse Aide certification and worked as a home health aide for paraplegic and quadraplegic individuals, as well as a CNA in the dementia care center of a nursing facility.
My journey in allopathic medicine took a turn when I saw too many people being sustained at a "livable" level of disease instead of having their health and quality of life improved. I took a break from my pre-med degree, only a year away from graduation, and studied massage therapy. My journey brought me to a chiropractic office, where I worked and learned that there is a better way...working towards achieving real health rather than covering up the signs and symptoms of disease. I soon finished up my degree at MSU, and moved to Atlanta to begin my career as a chiropractor.

I graduated from Life University College of Chiropractic in 2013. During school, I interned in the clinic's pediatric unit and gained a lot of advanced knowledge and experience serving children and families. I am close to finishing the pediatric chiropractic certification program through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), as well as my Childbirth Educator Certification through CAPPA. We are happy to offer childbirth education classes and Pathways Connect meetings in the office for patients and their guests.

I'm an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, International Federation of Chiropractors and Organizations, The American Pregnancy Association, Holistic Pediatric Alliance, Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, and La Leche League International.
Bottom line: Chiropractic embodies everything I believe is important in achieving wellness and the body's ability to heal itself. My goal as a chiropractor and educator is to help you get the most out of life through optimizing your body's function, encouraging healthy habits, and educating on health topics that are often neglected in our busy lives. I personally invite you to come to Family Tree and see how you can become a practice member and part of our family!
